What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) position at Eastern Carolina Pediatrics?
We are looking for a reliable and compassionate LPN to work closely with providers and other staff to care for both well and sick children. You will work under the supervision of MD and Nurse Practitioners to provide this care.
Responsibilities
- Record accurate medical history
- Obtain and record accurate vital signs
- Observe patient reactions to immunizations and other treatments
- Administer immunizations, prescribe medications, and assist with other basic medical care
- Take and record labs ie: urinalysis, hemoglobin, glucose, covid, flu, strep, rsv , lead draws, cholesterols ect.
- Triage and asses patients as needed per protocols
- Review and respond to nurse call messages throughout the day
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures as needed
- Refill medications as ordered by Md, via e-scripts
- Communicate with family members to provide advice, comfort, and instructions as needed
- Chart efficiently in Aprima
