What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Service Technician position at Eastern Bay Boat Works?
Full-Time Marine Technician
Ocean City, Maryland
We're building the kind of company we'd want to work for.
Eastern Bay Boat Works is a growing marine service company based in Ocean City, Maryland. We're an Authorized Mercury Marine Dealer, with additional partnerships including Garmin and Seakeeper Ride, providing mobile and shop-based service throughout Maryland and Delaware.
We're looking for an experienced, full-time marine technician with a strong background in outboard service, diagnostics, and repair. Mercury experience and certification are especially important to us, and Yamaha experience or certification is highly valued.
You don't need to come in with every certification already completed. We're willing to invest in additional manufacturer training and certifications for the right technician. What we're looking for is someone who already has solid marine experience, strong diagnostic skills, and can work independently.
What You'll Do
Our work includes:
- Mercury and Yamaha outboard maintenance, diagnostics, and repair
- Marine electrical diagnostics and rigging
- Garmin electronics installation and troubleshooting
- Repowers and engine rigging
- Seakeeper Ride installations
- Fishing, performance, and accessory upgrades
- Routine maintenance and seasonal service
We work on a wide variety of vessels, from family boats to high-end offshore fishing boats, both in the field and at our shop.
What We're Looking For
- Professional marine service experience
- Mercury training, experience, and/or certification; current Mercury certification strongly preferred
- Yamaha experience and/or certification
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Marine electrical and rigging knowledge
- Professional communication with customers
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
- Pride in doing quality work
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience and certifications
- Full-time, year-round employment
- Company service vehicle for field work
- Company-provided uniforms
- Health insurance
- Paid holidays and paid time off
- Ongoing manufacturer training and certification
- Retirement benefits as the company continues to grow
- Flexible work environment
Why Eastern Bay Boat Works?
We're a small, growing company without layers of corporate management. Experienced technicians are trusted to use their judgment, do their jobs well, and contribute ideas as we grow.
We take quality work and customer service seriously, but we also want to build a company where good people enjoy coming to work. If you're an experienced marine technician looking for a place where you can keep developing your skills and be treated like a professional, we'd like to talk to you.
