Location: Caribou Community School
Caribou Community School is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Day Treatment Teacher to work with students in grades 4 - 7 for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting students with diverse developmental needs while fostering independence, communication, and social-emotional growth in a structured and supportive environment.

Position Summary
The Day Treatment Teacher will be responsible for delivering individualized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals, supporting functional skill development, and collaborating with staff to meet the unique needs of each learner.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals
- Support the development of functional academics, self-care, communication, and social skills
- Create a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment responsive to diverse learning needs
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to support student growth
- Monitor and communicate student progress with families and school staff
- Collaborate with educational technicians, related service providers, general education staff, and administration
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Utilize the EDMS system to write individualized education plans for students on caseload.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Current Maine DOE certification in Special Education (282, 286, or appropriate endorsement), or eligibility
- Experience working with elementary students with diverse learning needs preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and instructional differentiation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,072.00 - $80,515.00 per year
