We are seeking an energetic, organized and diligent individual to join our Finance & Accounting team, supporting corporate accounting and reporting of Easterly and its subsidiaries as well as for the family office of the founding member. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in daily accounting tasks, including general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data validation. This person will enjoy working autonomously and be able to drive processes forward.
Primary responsibilities shall include the following:
- Manage accounts payable / accounts receivable for the firm, entities, and the family office, including verifying, coding and reconciling amounts in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide direction to employees in completing expense reports
- Lead monthly internal AP audit, presenting any questions for leadership’s review
- Assist with treasury functions including daily cash reconciliations
- Assist with month-end accounting close process
- Provide accurate reporting for family office billing needs
- Support payroll functions for family office staff
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to accounting transactions
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as required from time to time
Specific Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- At least three years of accounting experience, preferably in finance or asset management.
- Previous experience working with large data sets and multi-entity organizations is a plus
- Technologically savvy with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- Familiarity with Certify and Bill.com is helpful but not required
- Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent analytical and prioritization skills
- Strong written / verbal communication skills
- Tenacious in meeting deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and good self-management discipline
