What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Day and Supported Employment Services position at Easter Seals Tennessee Inc?
The Manager of Day and Supported Employment Services manages day-to-day operations of state-wide day services and supported employment, ensures goals are met, and operates within the given budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and guidance to Day Services Leads and Supported Employment Coordinator statewide.
- Serve as a representative of Easter Seals TN in meetings, trainings, etc. with external agencies and individuals, to include PCSP and Circle of Support meetings, in positive and professional manner at all times.
- In cooperation with the Supported Employment Coordinator, provide assessment, job placement, and supported employment services per the Vocational Rehabilitation Services Letter of Agreement, DIDD, and ECF/ Choices requirements.
- Initiate changes in day services and supported employment using creative and innovative approaches so that the philosophy and vision of these programs is enhanced.
- In cooperation with the Supported Employment Coordinator, develop specific job opportunities that match the job seeker’s skills, experience, training, and interests.
- Assist with completing applications, resume writing, job searching, and interview skills.
- Adhere to budget in both expense and revenue in all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure that staffing reflects regulations of various funding sources, and that productivity is monitored on a monthly basis.
- Work with Day Services Leads and Supported Employment Coordinator to ensure compliance with ISPs and PCSPs.
- Job Development for all adults receiving services who want to work, as needed, in coordination of Supported Employment Coordinator.
- Represent Easter Seals TN in community to develop partnerships for socialization and preemployment opportunities for Day Services and for Supported Employment Services
- Work with the Day Services Leads and Supported Employment Coordinator to ensure compliance with all funding sources, as guided by the Director of Compliance.
- Establish and maintain relationships with employers for those receiving employment services, in cooperation with the Supported Employment Coordinator.
- Complete the DIDD Therap Quarterly employment report within the timeframe requested.
- Complete 12 CEUs of pre-approved training required for the VR LOA each fiscal year.
- Fill in for Day Services Leads and Supported Employment Coordinator when needed.
- Provide MAPs Services as assigned.
- Receive training for and conduct Personal Outcome Measure Interviews as part of the POM Interview Team at ESTN.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and ESTN policies regarding the safe operation of motor vehicle.
- Comply with all Easter Seals Policies and Procedures,
- Ensure Person Centered practices and People First language are clearly communicated to all staff and implemented.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory:
This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree related to social services or management. A college degree must be from a program listed in the US Department of Education’s database of accredited institutions of higher learning.
- Completion of ACRE Professional Employment Certification OR Certified Rehabilitation Counselor OR ACRE National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services within first year of beginning position.
- Three years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Advocating for people with barriers to personal independence
- Developing, managing, or creating programs that promote personal independence.
- Developing, managing, or creating programs that promote hiring people with barriers to employment, preferably disability-related barriers.
- Knowledge of ECF/Choices, DIDD and Home and Community-Based Service programs, policies, and procedures.
- Two years management experience
- Master’s degree in social service field
- Experience managing multiple locations.
- Professional licensures and/or certifications directly related to the field, such as Certified Vocational Evaluator, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, etc.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License, with an F endorsement, and a clear driving history.
- Must maintain liability and auto insurance.
- Must maintain CPR and/or First Aid Certification and meet all DIDD and agency training requirements.
