Salary: $58,000 – $66,000 per year (based on education and experience)
Easterseals Florida is seeking a detail‑oriented and mission‑driven Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will help ensure the financial accuracy and accountability that support our essential programs and services across the state.
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing grants and restricted funds, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month‑end and year‑end close. This position works closely with the Director of Accounting and CFO to produce timely and reliable financial reporting in alignment with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile weekly cash summaries and monthly bank statements
- Track, manage, and maintain grant and restricted fund records
- Update and maintain the fixed asset database; lead annual asset inventory
- Prepare and enter general ledger transactions according to the month‑end checklist
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
- Support external auditors and prepare required schedules and reports
- Provide variance analysis and financial insights to leadership

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of accounting or financial management experience (nonprofit preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., MIP) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with team members across multiple sites
- High integrity, attention to detail, and effective problem‑solving skills
- Must meet approved driving qualifications to use a personal vehicle for business needs (minimum age 21 with acceptable driving history)
