Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Unarmed Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will monitor access points, conduct surveillance, and respond promptly to incidents, maintaining a secure environment through active observation and conflict management. Must be dependable, have reliable transportation, and be insurable to enable you to drive the Mall's vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Monitor entrances and exits to control access for employees, visitors, and contractors using CCTV systems and manual checks
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security risks or safety hazards
- Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies requiring first aid or CPR if necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes
- Enforce security policies and procedures while managing conflicts with professionalism and calmness
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing for theft or vandalism and reporting findings appropriately
Requirements
- Proven ability to remain alert, vigilant, and proactive during long shifts
- Knowledge of security protocols, conflict management techniques, and emergency response procedures
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Experience with surveillance systems such as CCTV is preferred
- Background in law enforcement, military service, or related security fields is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle tense situations professionally
- Ability to work independently while following established safety guidelines
