What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Special Education Teacher – Summer Program position at EASTCONN CDT Program?
The Clinical, Developmental & Therapeutic (CDT) Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Special Education Teacher to support students during our 18 day Summer Program beginning July 1, 2026 - July 30, 2026. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative educational and therapeutic team serving students with intensive special education needs.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support and classroom leadership in the absence of the regular special education teacher
- Implement individualized educational programming and behavioral supports
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and clinical staff
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Support students with academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional skill development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Connecticut teaching certification preferred
- Experience working with students with significant behavioral, emotional, developmental, or therapeutic needs strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
