This part-time position works directly with customers to provide in-person and virtual career advisement and case management services. Responsibilities include meeting contractual performance goals associated with the Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (MPI) grant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high energy and motivation to support customers in achieving their employment goals. This individual must be a self-starter who can work independently, remain well organized, multitask effectively, and prioritize competing projects. The Workforce Advisor is responsible for MPI enrollment and the delivery of ongoing case management services to clients interested in entering the manufacturing field. These services include, but are not limited to, career assessment and guidance, evaluation of education and training needs, information and referrals, coordination of support services, and job search and job development assistance. 

 

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provide intensive career advisement and case management services to participants interested in pursuing careers in the manufacturing field.
  • Meet with clients and conduct assessments of academic levels, basic skills, and service needs to determine each client’s capabilities, interests, and the most appropriate employment and/or training placement.
  • Conduct Enrollment Workshops.
  • Enroll, register, and track customers participating in the Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (MPI) program.
  • Make referrals to other programs and services as needed.
  • Coordinate with training providers to ensure participants are meeting program and employment goals.
  • Collect attendance records and process weekly support service requests.
  • Work closely with the Job Developer to support job placement and On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities
  • Meet contractual performance goals for Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative (MPI) programs.
  • Collaborate with regional program staff to ensure consistent service delivery and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Follow Employment Services communication protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, activity updates, and required document uploads in CTHires.
  • Attend all required trainings and scheduled meetings.
  • Adhere to all TVCCA and Employment Services Department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate services effectively for clients with multiple barriers to employment.
  • Resolve conflicts using sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to programmatic and funding-related changes
  • Maintain and promote a safe environment while ensuring confidentiality for both co-workers and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse population in a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Promote EASTCONN’s mission and pledge of quality and adhere to the agency’s code of ethics.
  • Represent the agency and Employment Services programs in a positive, professional manner at all times.
  • Arrive to work on time and adhere to assigned work schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus three years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent customer service, computer and communication skills required. Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and access to daily, reliable and insured transportation. Spanish speaking preferred.
