What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Aide position at EASTCONN Adult & Community Programs - Community Learning Center?

Seeking a part time aide to run activities and provide supervision for young children at United Services in Plainfield four mornings a week during the school year.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate activities designed for elementary-aged children, ensuring they are educational, fun, and age-appropriate.
  • Provide active supervision, maintaining a safe and positive environment.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and spaces.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging participation and positive interactions among children.
  • Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a group setting, such as in a school, camp, or daycare environment.
  • Ability to manage groups of young children safely and positively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Availability for two afternoon shifts per week during the school year.
