What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Aide (Part-Time) position at EASTCONN Adult & Community Programs - Community Learning Center?
EASTCONN's Adult and Community Programs is seeking a part time aide to run activities and provide supervision for elementary aged children at Natchaug Elementary School two afternoons a week during the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate activities designed for elementary-aged children, ensuring they are educational, fun, and age-appropriate.
- Provide active supervision, maintaining a safe and positive environment.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and spaces.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging participation and positive interactions among children.
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a group setting, such as in a school, camp, or daycare environment.
- Ability to manage groups of young children safely and positively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
- Availability for two afternoon shifts per week during the school year.
