The Water Well Driller Assistant will support residential and agricultural well projects throughout the local service area. Working with the company owner, this role will assist in setting up rotary drilling rigs, laying ground protection mats on lawns for rig to back on, assist with perform well construction and development activities, install pumps and casing, and help maintain reliable equipment while becoming an appreciated member of our small team and serving customers effectively. Responsibilities
- Assist with drilling operations for residential and agricultural water wells.
- Construct and develop boreholes according to project requirements.
- Install well casing and related components.
- Install and support water well pump systems.
- Help with rotary drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- Maintain drilling equipment and assist with mechanical troubleshooting.
- Follow workplace safety practices on all project sites.
- Communicate effectively with the company owner, team members, and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in water well drilling.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commercial driver’s license. Will assist the right candidate to obtain CDL.
- Knowledge of water well drilling, casing and screen installation, and pump systems helps but not required.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Regularly required to lift 70lbs. Stand for long periods.
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to weld and run a torch helps
