What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at East Wake Animal Hospital?
Genuinely enjoy working with animals and provide compassionate care
Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner
Maintain positive, cooperative relationship with other employees
Be reliable, friendly and have a strong work ethic.
Communicate with pet owners
Work unaffected in an environment where dogs are barking
Lift and carry animals
Clean and sanitize all cages, runs and related areas; change litter boxes and food/water bowls
Feed animals as instructed
Administer medication
Walk dogs
Give baths and brush out animals
Maintain laundry for the kennel and hospital
Maintain the cleanliness of the hospital each day
Be an extra set of hands for Veterinary Assistants
Be available to work weekends and holidays and during the week
Understand that you will come in contact with the occasional aggressive pet
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
