Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team. The Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing staff, managing inventory, and driving sales while maintaining operational excellence.
Duties
- Assist in the management of daily store operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Supervise and train team members in customer service best practices, merchandising standards, and operational tasks.
- Conduct employee orientation and training sessions to enhance team performance and engagement.
- Participate in the recruiting process by interviewing potential candidates and assisting with onboarding.
- Manage inventory control processes including ordering, stocking, and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including payroll management and bookkeeping tasks as needed.
- Utilize POS systems for sales transactions while ensuring accurate pricing and inventory management.
- Implement effective marketing strategies to drive sales and promote store promotions.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment that enhances the customer shopping experience.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on budgeting, sales management, and achieving financial goals.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within retail or grocery settings is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving results through effective communication.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to better serve our diverse customer base.
- Proficient in retail math, inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong leadership qualities with a commitment to team development and training initiatives.
- Familiarity with administrative duties such as scheduling shifts and maintaining employee records is beneficial.
