What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Companion Volunteer position at East TX Volunteers |Three Oaks Hospice?
Three Oaks Hospice is seeking caring people to spend time with one of our patients in Tyler, TX. As a Personal Hospice Companion, you’ll be paired with a patient and visit a few times each month to talk, read, share stories, or offer comforting presence. the goal is to be there for someone who appreciates your company.
If you’d like to help with other projects around the office or at events, you can, but it’s not required.

Getting Started
- We ask applicants to complete a background check, a two‑step TB test, and a brief orientation (online or in person). We provide and pay for the background check and TB test at our Tyler office.
- Once these steps are complete, we’ll match you with a patient whose personality and interests align with yours.
- Commit to atleast 6 months of service, which is around 5 hours per month minimum.
Pay: $0.01 per year
