What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Office Assistant position at East Texas Hematology and Oncology?
What you’ll do
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address inquiries with professionalism.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems .
- Verify insurance information and handle medical collections efficiently to support financial processes.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care plans and facilitate seamless communication between departments.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records to enhance office efficiency.
- Provide bilingual support when necessary to ensure all patients feel understood and valued.
Basic qualifications
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create a welcoming environment for patients.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and health information management practices.
