What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at East Texas Foot and Ankle Centers, PA?
East Texas Foot and Ankle Centers is seeking a hardworking, reliable medical assistant to join our podiatry team. Our ideal candidate is friendly, compassionate and patient focused. Our Medical Assistants play a vital role by supporting patient care and assisting the provider. We are dedicated to providing exceptional foot and ankle care. This position is full time (no part time request) Monday- Friday 8-5pm. Does not have to be certified as we will train but must be able to catch on quickly.
Responsibilities:
-Greet patients, gather required insurance documents/ paperwork for registration
-Explain treatments and follow up care to patients.
- Provide excellent patient service and care in a medical setting
- Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and examinations
-Room patients efficiently and provide high level of customer service.
-Cleans, stocks, and maintains exam rooms, procedure rooms, and other assigned clinical areas.
- Perform medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding to accurately document patient information
-Records vital signs such as height, weight and blood pressure.
- Verify patients' insurance and obtain benefits for coverage.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
-Must be comfortable anwsering phones and assisting patients with follow up instructions
-Must be a team player and also be able to independently work.
-Must be able to multitask
