Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor) to provide comprehensive mental health and addiction counseling services. The ideal candidate will support clients through individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote recovery and well-being. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate care, conduct assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
Duties
- Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and treatment goals.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, and addiction counseling.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management to ensure client safety.
- Develop and monitor treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices and case management protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and ICD coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in hospital, home, community care settings, and other agencies to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize research and data collection methods to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve service delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, behavioral health practices, and addiction medicine to inform clinical decisions.
- Manage intake procedures for new clients, including assessments of mental health status and addiction severity.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to PTSD care, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health advancements.
Skills
- Strong background in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and crisis management.
- Proficiency in child & family counseling, addiction counseling, behavioral health therapies including applied behavior analysis.
- Experience with hospital settings, home & community care environments; familiarity with medical documentation standards.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical records management.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using DSM criteria; experience with mental health counseling and case management.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment, intake interviews, and collaborative team interactions.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information; experience in data collection for research purposes.
- Competence in social work principles applied within clinical settings; adept at behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
