Teacher Aide
Join our dedicated team and make a difference every day! The Teacher Aide provides essential support to classroom teachers in the performance of their professional duties. The primary focus is on non-teaching tasks, allowing the teacher to focus on instruction. This role involves working closely with students—either individually or in small groups—to reinforce learning, assist with physical needs, and maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional & Classroom Support
- Assist students with various learning activities under the direct supervision of the teacher.
- Help manage classroom materials, set up equipment, and organize learning centers.
- Supervise students during non-instructional periods, including lunch, recess, hallway transitions, and bus loading/unloading.
- Monitor student behavior and assist in maintaining a positive, disciplined learning environment.
Student Care & Inclusion
- Support students with special needs by following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 Plans.
- Assist students with physical needs, which may include mobility, feeding, or personal hygiene (depending on the specific assignment).
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and abilities of all students in the district.
Administrative Support
- Perform clerical tasks such as grading objective tests, taking attendance, and organizing student files.
- Assist the teacher in preparing bulletin boards and instructional handouts.
