- Be directly responsible to the Supervisor.
- Be responsible for the identification and provision of social work services to students with social and emotional problems.
- Identify and assist students, families, and school systems in overcoming barriers that interfere with learning.
- Make appropriate referrals to community agencies and perform follow-up tasks on student referrals.
- Provide assistance and/or input in conducting socio-developmental studies required as a part of the total evaluation of students.
- Function as a member of school based intervention teams as assigned by supervisor.
- Provide consultation to school personnel.
- Work within the school setting and the community in developing programs for school children.
- Respond to crisis situations as warranted.
- Conform to the standards established by the National Association of Social Workers’ Code of Ethics.

- A minimum of three (3) years experience working with children in high-needs environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Social Worker provides social work services to children and their families within the school district. The social worker functions within the guidelines provided by the building to which he/she is assigned and functions in alignment with district priorities.
