TITLE: English Language Arts Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
TERM: 10 months
JOB GOAL: Work with students to help them learn concepts in English Language Arts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor Degree in English or hold an appropriate Tennessee certification license
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Effective decision-making and verbal and written communication skills
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide an instructional program that is differentiated.
- Commitment to high student achievement & support for all students.
- Knowledge of the subject matter being taught.
- Ability to exercise various teaching strategies to increase students’ critical thinking skills
- Create a secure classroom climate.
- Analyze data and adjust your lessons accordingly.
- Plan, develop, implement, and monitor, with student success as your goal.
- Use available technology in your lessons.
- Communicate effectively with parents and students.
- Assist with others duties as assigned by the Principal
