Full-Time Teacher Assistant
We are recruiting a teaching assistant for the Elementary School.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups.
- Enforce school and class rules to support appropriate behaviors
- Help teachers with recordkeeping, such as tracking attendance and calculating grades
- Help teachers prepare for lessons by getting materials ready or setting up equipment
- Help supervise students in class, between classes, during lunch, recess, and on field trips.
- Provide intervention and instructional support to students
- Work collaboratively with students, teachers, and administrators
- Maintain awareness of students' social and emotional needs and development

Job Qualifications
- A desire to work with students in a teaching and learning capacity
- A two-year degree with an emphasis on education coursework is highly desirable.
- Must have a valid NYS teacher certification, OR a valid NYS teacher assistant certificate, OR be willing to register for the next available NYS Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills Test, take the Child Abuse Detection workshop, and the Violence Prevention workshop within 40 days of hire.
