Anticipated Elementary Special Education Teacher

The East Rochester School District is seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher for a full-time, tenure-track position. Elementary Special Education Consultant Teacher:

• Plan and provide instruction for students with learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans that utilize best practices and align with NYS Learning Standards.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate alternative behavior management plans.

• Work in a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.

• Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.

• Manage and support the classroom team.

• Participate in ongoing training.

• NYS Students with Disabilities Certification Grades B-2, 1–6, NYS Literacy Certification Preferred

• Knowledge and experience in implementing NYS standards, Core Curriculum, and NYS Alternative Assessment.

• Proven leadership with classroom team management preferred.
