Duties
- Prepare and assemble meals according to dietary guidelines and patient preferences, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Serve meals to patients in a courteous and timely manner, maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, cleaning, bussing tables, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness to meet food safety regulations.
- Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking food items, and managing inventory efficiently.
- Follow proper food safety procedures during food production and serving to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Aid in meal delivery across wards while adhering to scheduled times and special dietary restrictions.
- Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining sanitation standards and assisting with kitchen sanitation practices.
- Make reassurance calls to seniors in an effort to eliminate feelings of isolation and loneliness, and enter information into C-Star
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable.
- Culinary experience or background in food preparation and service is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols essential for maintaining hygiene standards.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward residents and staff.
- Experience working within dietary or nutrition departments is a plus.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding meal plans and dietary restrictions.
