General Summary:
The Data Entry Specialist (p/t) is responsible for transforming paper information into an electronic data system for storage and analysis. The specialist reads the information to make sure it's accurate, make corrections, if necessary, enter the data and stores the hard copies and electronic data in the proper place.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Collects program activity forms from staff and consultants and enters wellness units into CSTARS on a daily basis.
- Enters and updates intake forms in CSTARS.
- Processes and resolves data inquiries by searching and reviewing WSWC databases.
- Maintains data files.
- Performs administrative duties such as operating office equipment, data filing as required and ordering supplies.
- Makes reassurance calls to seniors and enters responses in CSTARS.
- Updates senior chat list of emails and test message contacts.
- Maintains records of work completed.
- Ensures the requisite data is available for the monthly CURT report.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for achieving program goals and objectives.

Work Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience entering and retrieving data from electronic systems.
- Education
- Associate degree (A.A.) preferred; High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) required.
- Certifications/Licensure
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate required; if not certified at hire, CPR certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Specific Knowledge and Abilities
- Must possess a working and demonstrated knowledge of the CSTARS system among other data base systems such as Excel.
Computer Skills
- Must be proficient in basic MS Office programs including MSWord, Excel, Outlook and Explorer, Data entry in various database programs.
- Communication/Interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required; Courteous and responsive to the public; Able to gather assessment information through conversation, listening and observation skills; Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work with others; Able to maintain professionalism at all times.
Working Environment
Indoors at the Washington Seniors Wellness Center; primarily interacting with members. Tasks can also be accomplished remotely through teleworking when necessary.
