Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Concrete Construction Surveyor to join our team. This position is responsible for providing accurate and precise surveying services to support the layout and placement of concrete structures, including foundations, slabs, walls, and site features. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in construction staking, site layout, and elevation verification, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform site layouts and staking for concrete foundations, walls, flatwork, and anchor bolts using total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
- Interpret and analyze construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine appropriate layout requirements.
- Verify elevations, alignments, and dimensions of structures using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and foremen to ensure surveying activities align with construction schedules and tolerances.
- Record and document survey data, prepare as-built drawings, and maintain detailed field notes.
- Monitor project progress and verify completed work against specifications and plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to layout and elevations.
- Ensure survey equipment is calibrated, maintained, and properly stored.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and site compliance at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of experience in construction layout or surveying, preferably in concrete construction.
- Proficiency with total station, robotic total station, GPS/GNSS systems, and data collectors.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, field engineering, and geometric tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD files, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, mathematical skills, and spatial awareness.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in outdoor conditions and on active construction sites.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with software such as AutoCAD and Trimble.
- Knowledge of concrete forming systems and placement processes.
- Familiarity with laser levels, digital levels, and elevation benchmarks.
