East Missouri Action Agency has an opening for a Staff Accountant at the Central Office in Park Hills.
The Staff Accountant performs a full range of accounting functions including preparing budget to actual, compares current and past balance sheets, summarizes detail of separate ledgers and prepares reports, audits expenses posted to designated programs to insure compliance with agency and program specific state and federal policies, procedures, and laws. This position prepares month and year end close and on-going financial projections for current/future fiscal periods. Applies complex policies and procedures to areas of responsibility, keeping precise records. Develops positive relationships with vendors, banks and organizations. Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with program directors and staff.

Applicants must have the following:
- Associates Degree in Accounting or at least 3 years of experience in fund accounting. Additional training beyond high school is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in all phases of bookkeeping, including familiarity with generally accepted accounting procedures, budget preparation and complete knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and financial record keeping.
- Experience in Double Entry Accounting
- Ability to Manage Multiple Projects
- Excellent Computer Skills
- Working Knowledge of Accounting Software and Excel Spreadsheets
- Ability to Process Information from Grants, Contracts, and other Agency Agreements
- Ability to Maintain Confidentiality
- Familiarity with Office Equipment
- Ability to Work as Part of a Team
- Ability to Maintain Good Attendance and Arrive Punctually
- A Valid MO Driver's License
- Ability to Travel In and Out of Area as Required
The schedule for this position is 7:30am-5pm, Monday - Thursday. Starting pay for this position is $20.50-$23.90/hour with an excellent benefit package that includes the following:
