Duties
- Teaches all classes and labs as assigned;
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the subject;
- Communicates with students the goals, objectives, and expectations of the course;
- Assigns learning activities which promote understanding of the course content;
- Keeps accurate records of attendance and grades and submits all reports and other requested information promptly and accurately;
- Maintains discipline in the classroom;
- Attends faculty meetings and other required meetings as prescribed;
- Meets all classes promptly and regularly and begins and ends class on time;
- Participates actively in professional development opportunities in the discipline;
- Maintains required office and class hours;
- Serves as sponsor and advisor for student clubs and organizations as appropriate;
- Advises students with class schedules;
- Serves on college councils and committees as assigned;
- Effectively communicates with, cooperates with and supports other college personnel in daily activities;
- Supports the College mission implicitly and explicitly in the daily execution of all duties and responsibilities;
- Actively participates in maintaining an effective and continuous recruiting program;
- Participates in Institutional Effectiveness activities;
- Represents the College in a professional manner as evidenced by dress, demeanor and the discharge of daily responsibilities;
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by the President and/or supervisor.
- MastersDegreeinNursing– required
- Doctoral Degree in Nursing with prior teaching experience– desired
- Good work ethics, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time clinical experience as a Registered Nurse with in the last five (5) years
- Credentials of good standing and verification of legal status to practice as a Registered Nurse in Mississippi
- Credentials of good standing and verification of legal status to practice as a healthcare professional in Mississippi and/or national level
- Health status satisfactory for performance of clinical and classroom instructional responsibilities
- Must have satisfactory criminal background check
