East Mills Community school District is currently hiring for an Assistant Softball Coach. This position is available for the 2025-2026 season.
Title: Activity Sponsor
Work Relationship: Staff
Reports To: Principal
Consults With: Principal, Professional Staff, Students
Job Goal: To set up meetings and supervise the organization/practices.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supervise organization and practices.
- To see that the organization has a constitution or some form of rules and regulations for the organization on file in the Principal’s office and adequate copies for all members and/or participants.
- To help plan activities and place activities on a master schedule coordinated with the activities director and approved by the High School Principal.
- To see that the activities are carried out.
- To prepare a follow-up, in writing, for all activities.
- To apply and follow the Board of Education policy on student conduct.
- Fill out requests for transportation forms and file with the principal well in advance of activity.
- To help plan and supervise fundraisers in accordance with board policy.

Qualifications:
- Possess a valid D.E. coaching authorization or the credentials of a certified teacher with an endorsement for coaching on file with the Board Secretary.
- Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the tasks listed
under “Performance Responsibilities.”
- Must exhibit high moral values and be able to serve as a favorable example to young people.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Reports to: Activities Director and Secondary Principal
Supervises: Assistant coaches, student athletes and student managers
Job Goal: To provide leadership, supervision, and organization of a specific athletic
activity, and to carry out the objectives of the total athletic program.
To include helping each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an
appreciation for the values of discipline and an increased level of self-esteem.
Terms of Employment: Compensation and duration of coaching season to be established by the Board of Education.
Assessment: Assessment of the job performance will be evaluated by the Activities Director and Secondary Principal.
