Overview
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, organized and highly motivated Dental Front Desk Receptionist/ Insurance, Billing & Collections Coordinator to join our dental practice.
The position is ideal for someone who is comfortable providing excellent patient service while also taking ownership of insurance, billing, collections and other administrative responsibilities. We are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, personable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and checking patients in and out in a friendly and professional matter
- Answering phones and assisting patients with questions and scheduling
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
- Collecting and accurately posting patient payments to the correct provider/account
- Verifying dental insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtaining detailed insurance breakdowns prior to new patient appointments
- Submitting and following up on dental insurance claims
- Following up with insurance companies on outstanding or unpaid claims
- Handling insurance pre-authorizations and discussing approved treatment and estimated patient portions with patients
- Monitoring outstanding patient balances and assisting with collections
- Contacting patients regarding balances and payment arrangements
- Reviewing accounts and following up consistently on outstanding A/R
- Processing record-release requests and medical clearances
- Monitoring office email throughout the day and responding appropriately
- Maintaining accurate and detailed notes regarding patient and insurance communications
- Assisting with general front desk duties and providing coverage as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment with strong front desk skills
- Understands dental insurance, billing, claims, and collections
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Is comfortable discussing balance and financial responsibilities with patients
- Takes initiative and attempts to solve problems independently
- Has a warm, upbeat, and professional personality
- Communicates well with patients, providers, and coworkers
- Is dependable, organized, and able to multitask in a busy dental office
- Understands the importance of accurate payment posting and documentation
- Follows through on tasks without requiring constant reminders
- Dental office experience is strongly preferred

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
