East Longmeadow Public Schools seeks a highly skilled Reading Specialist to provide evidence-based literacy instruction and intervention for students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the Science of Reading, structured literacy practices, and the developmental progression of reading acquisition, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Responsibilities include conducting literacy assessments; analyzing student data, delivering targeted interventions; developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Program (IEP) reading goals; collecting and documenting progress toward IEP goals; collaborating with educators and families; and supporting the implementation of research-based literacy practices across the district.
Massachusetts Reading Specialist licensure is required.
