Custodian - Second Shift

The Role:

• Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the assigned school building.
• Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash and perform other general building-cleaning duties
• Set up and clean up for school sporting events and building events as assigned
• Assist with general building and grounds maintenance and special projects as needed
• Assist with snow and ice removal around doorways, overhangs and adjacent areas
• Help maintain a clean, safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors
• Perform other related custodial duties as assigned by the Head Custodian, Principal or designee. The contract specifically provides for custodial cleaning, building and grounds maintenance, event setup/cleanup and certain snow-removal responsibilities

For FY27, beginning July 1 2026, the custodian rate is $24.09/hour, plus the contractual $0.75/hour second shift differential. Custodians are considered essential personnel and may be required to report during weather related school closings or emergencies. There is a lot of overtime available on weekends. Second shift custodians will rotate weekend OT. Salary : $24
