What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at East Izakaya?
Food runner is an important piece of the teamwork puzzle. A food runner is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. Food runners are primarily responsible for:
- Setting up, stocking and breaking down expo fridge
- Running food to tables
- Ensuring guests have everything they need to enjoy their meal
- From time to time, act as a bar back (stock up the bar, help with
- cutting fruits, etc)
- Bussing tables
- Maintaining service area cleanliness
- Maintaining washrooms
Food runners are a pivotal position in the restaurant. This is the backbone of the operation – the silent executioner.
- Experience working in a restaurant environment is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Aloha POS, is a plus
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members
- Knowledge of food handling and service procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
