Supervisor of Secondary Science Curriculum (6-12)
Salary: $138,050 - $145,570 (Per Contract)

TITLE: Secondary (6-12) Curriculum Supervisor – Science
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certified as administrator/supervisor with 092 endorsement.
2. Certified as a teacher with a Science endorsement (Biology # 030; Chemistry # 031; Physics # 032; Earth Science # 033; or General Science # 034)
3. Master’s degree required.
4. Experience as an administrator strongly preferred; experience as a Science teacher required.
5. Knowledge of Science curriculum and programming
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent or designee
SUPERVISES: Science Department (assigned teachers and staff).
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administers to the needs of the Science Department.
2. Evaluates and supervises teachers.
3. Works cooperatively with other administrative personnel (PreK-12) in formulating curriculum.
4. Coordinates with and shares ideas with the EHPS PreK-12 instructional team
5. Assumes leadership for the instructional programming in cooperation with the administrative and professional teaching staff.
6. Plans and provides of professional development opportunities for in-service growth of staff members.
7. Fosters community partnerships and connections in area of specialty.
8. Prepares reports as needed and presents information to the Superintendent and Board of Education as appropriate..
9. Participates in the staff recruiting and hiring process.
10. Provides orientation of staff new to EHPS and department.
11. As it relates to the Science Department, oversees the placement of student teachers and interns in cooperation with the building principal and appropriate central office colleagues.
12. Supports principals in the implementation of school improvement plans.
13. Develops and oversees administration and analysis of curriculum-based assessments and all course and state assessments.
14. Serves as member and participates in all District Leadership Team and Office of School Performance team initiatives.
15. Updates and oversees all curriculum, assessment, and instructional updates in the department.
16. Develops and presents new course proposals as necessary and appropriate.
17. Oversees selection of curriculum resources/materials and maintains inventory..
18. Assists in scheduling of course assignments for students and staff.
19. Prepares the department’s annual budget request and all budget planning actions.
20. Administers the approved budget.
21. Writes appropriate grant applications for program development and improvement and administers approved grants.
23. Provides and analyzes all related data including information for grant evaluations..
24. Participates in professional activities such as workshops, conferences, parent/teacher meetings and activities of other pertinent professional organizations.
25. Cooperates in the ongoing studies of curriculum and school building needs and participates in the educational planning of school facilities.
26.Cooperates and supports related partnerships and programs for Career and Certification opportunities (CNA, EMR, etc.)
27. Assumes such other functions as may be determined.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the collective bargaining agreement between the Board of Education and EHEASU.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
