Salary Range: $22.57 - $30.04 per hour (Per Contract)

TITLE: Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate’s Degree Preferred
2. Proven office experience highly desirable
REPORTS TO: Immediate Supervisor/Administrator and/or Executive Secretary
JOB GOAL: Performs secretarial/accounting, administrative work of a complex, confidential and responsible nature. This position will usually exist in offices with one or two office workers and serves as the main secretarial position to the administrator.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves in many instances as the point of initial contact with Board members, staff and
the public.
2. Relieves the administrator of administrative details and takes appropriate action on
routine matters.
3. Completes routine/cyclical matters without direction.
4. Supervises and maintains a professional work flow.
5. Prioritizes work.
6. Possesses an excellent knowledge of grammatical skills and the English language.
7. Organizes and supervises others.
8. Operates personal computer at advanced skills level, including word processing,
presentation, spread sheets, data entry and electronic mail.
9. Creates/maintains/teaches computer procedures/programs.
10. Possesses working knowledge of current Board policies and laws relevant to the
individual’s department.
11. Prepares and presents information at meetings.
12. Communicates with vendors for problem resolutions.
13. Possesses knowledge of bookkeeping procedures/programs.
14. Maintains various account journals and prepares information for transfer and entry
into automated account systems.
15. Performs double entry bookkeeping procedures, maintains account balances and
reconciles bank statements.
16. Maintains substantial financial records of budgetary transactions.
17. Performs all functions expected of an Assistant Secretary, Secretary
18. Assumes such other functions as may be determined.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Seven hours per day ten (10) or twelve (12) month year.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Non-Certified Staff.
