Job Overview

A Physical Therapy Aide plays a key role in supporting patient recovery and ensuring the smooth, efficient operation of a busy rehabilitation environment. In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you’ll work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver exceptional patient care, maintain a safe and organized clinic, and help patients feel supported throughout their rehabilitation journey. Responsibilities

• Therapy Session Support — Assist physical therapists with patient intake, session setup, and post-treatment cleanup to keep appointments running efficiently.
• Safe Patient Transfers — Use proper manual handling techniques to support patient transfers and ensure safety and comfort.
• Treatment Area Preparation — Set up equipment, organize supplies, and maintain a clean, ready-to-use environment for each therapy session.
• Exercise Monitoring — Observe patients during exercises, offer encouragement, and help them follow prescribed routines correctly.
• Confidentiality Compliance — Protect patient privacy and adhere to all confidentiality and regulatory standards.
• Administrative Assistance — Support documentation, update medical records, assist with scheduling, and help maintain accurate patient progress notes.
• Rehabilitation Support — Assist with mobility exercises, gait training, and post-acute care activities under therapist supervision.

Experience & Qualifications

• Clinical Experience — Prior work or training in physical therapy or rehabilitation is highly preferred.
• Patient Interaction Skills — Strong communication, empathy, and patient engagement abilities.
• Medical Knowledge — Understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and foundational physiotherapy concepts.
• Hospital or Inpatient Experience — Experience in hospital or inpatient environments is beneficial for adapting to acute care needs.
• Safety & Certification — Familiarity with patient transfer methods, safe lifting techniques, CPR certification, and hospital protocols is advantageous.
• Geriatric or Sub‑Acute Experience — Background in geriatrics or sub-acute care supports success in this role.
• Confidentiality & Multitasking — Ability to maintain privacy while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
