About the Role:
The LTL Customer Service Representative plays a critical role in ensuring seamless communication and coordination between customers and the transportation team within the less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping sector. This position is responsible for managing customer inquiries, processing orders, and resolving shipment issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. The representative acts as a liaison to facilitate timely and accurate delivery of goods, while also addressing any logistical challenges that may arise. By maintaining detailed records and collaborating with internal departments, this role supports operational efficiency and contributes to the overall success of the transportation and warehousing process. Ultimately, the LTL Customer Service Representative ensures that customers receive reliable, responsive service that meets their shipping needs and expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working specifically with less-than-truckload (LTL) freight operations.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics software.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and freight documentation.
- Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels regarding LTL shipments.
- Process and enter customer orders accurately into the transportation management system, ensuring all shipment details are correct.
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and warehouse personnel to schedule pickups, deliveries, and resolve any shipment discrepancies or delays.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers, proactively addressing any issues that may impact delivery timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, shipment statuses, and service issues to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
Skills:
The required skills enable the representative to communicate clearly and efficiently with customers and internal teams, ensuring accurate order processing and timely resolution of issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems supports the daily tracking and documentation of shipments, which is essential for operational transparency.
