East Greenwich Public Schools is seeking applications for an Elementary Student Services Coordinator. Job Title: Elementary Student Services Coordinator Department/Division: School Department Reports To: Elementary Principals and Director of Student Services Grade Level: Elementary Exempt: Non-Exempt Salary: In accordance with the Department Chair EGEA-Teachers contract Hours of Work: Full Time, School Year, with occasional work time needed outside of school hours within the stipend provided. The Elementary Student Services Coordinator is a highly trained, experienced, and successful special educator with strong written and verbal communication and leadership skills. Under supervision, the Elementary Student Services Coordinator facilitates and supports compliance with state and federal regulations regarding Special Education and Section 504 throughout the district. They promote alignment of services with district priorities, curriculum, and state and federal regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Under the direction of the Elementary Principals and Director of Student Services: May act as an LEA at Evaluation Team and IEP team meetings as needed. The LEA acts as a leader and represents East Greenwich Public Schools through active participation and collaboration on the team. Collaborate with, coach, and support Evaluation Teams and IEP teams to support compliance under RIDE/IDEA and Section 504. Facilitate and support educators and service providers with case management logistics, e.g., workflows, and administrative responsibilities such as eligibility paperwork, Prior Written Notice, etc. Collaborate with staff to develop, maintain, and disseminate a shared resource library of instructional materials, strategies, interventions, and data-collection tools. Collaborate with the Director of Special Education, Elementary Principals, teachers, and staff. Collaborate with special educators managing cases of elementary students attending outside placements. Provide support and coaching to Special Educators, Related Service providers, and Support Staff as needed, keyed to best practices in evidence-informed interventions and supports. Maintain confidential records. Knowledgeable of a variety of assessment tools and able to analyze and interpret data to make decisions or recommendations. Ensure that all special education and 504 timelines are being followed. Maintain professional development in new compliance regulations and best practices in Special Education. Communicate effectively and respond to parent and staff emails and phone calls in a timely manner. Serve as a member of the Blue Team at each Elementary School and respond at the discretion of the building principal or Director Student Services. Collaborate with Elementary Principals to assist in the preparation of state assessment coordination and accommodations for students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate consistent attendance and maintain effective performance evaluations as a special educator/case manager. Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services and Elementary Principals. Desired Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, and an Advanced Education/ Master’s Degree in Special Education or related degree preferred 5 successful years as a Special Educator/ Case Manager Valid RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher (K-8) Proficient knowledge of Special Education regulations through the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), including the eligibility process, IEP writing, timelines, and procedures. Proficient knowledge of regulations regarding Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act Proficient knowledge of Assessment tools Safety Care Certification preferred Science of Reading endorsement preferred MLL endorsement preferred Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the United States required Tools & Equipment Used: Being proficient in major computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher), Google Calendar, Google platform, SAMS and Aspen. Having the ability to learn the operations of a state assessment online testing software. Schedule and responsibilities will be structured to prioritize support for educators and students while maintaining reasonable workload expectations. While the position primarily follows the regular school-day and school-year calendar, some responsibilities may occasionally require work outside the regular school day or school calendar.
