Senior Director, Application Platforms & Development
What You’ll Do:
Set the Application Vision
- Define and steward the long-term vision for enterprise application platforms, including TMS, WMS, Financial ERP, EDI, and custom-built capabilities.
- Guide platform selection, modernization, and build-vs-buy decisions.
- Ensure cohesion and alignment across application roadmaps.
Lead Innovation Through Development
- Shape how custom application development differentiates our business and extends core platforms.
- Establish architectural guardrails, integration patterns, and extensibility strategies.
- Champion innovation that improves automation, scalability, data flow, and customer experience.
Empower Product & Delivery Teams
- Lead Product Managers and Business Analysts who own backlogs, requirements, and stakeholder alignment.
- Provide strategic direction and prioritization frameworks while enabling teams to execute independently.
- Oversee major initiatives from concept through deployment using disciplined SDLC and Agile practices.
Provide Executive & Organizational Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO and senior business leaders.
- Build strong relationships across Operations, Transportation, Warehousing, Finance, and Customer Experience.
- Lead and develop internal and offshore teams across application development, integrations, and delivery.
Ensure Stability & Governance
- Ensure enterprise applications supporting 24/7 operations are stable, trusted, and well governed.
- Partner on resiliency, disaster recovery, security, and business continuity planning.

What We’re Looking For
Required
- 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience in application development and enterprise systems.
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, including offshore delivery.
- Experience supporting Transportation, Warehousing, Supply Chain, or Distribution environments.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence without micromanaging.
Preferred
- Experience with TMS, WMS, ERP, EDI, and integration-heavy ecosystems.
- Background blending custom development with packaged platforms.
- Experience modernizing mature platforms in operationally intensive environments.
- Master’s degree a plus.

Salary : $160,000 - $175,000
