- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure equipment and facility maintenance schedules are followed.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control and accuracy, minimizing discrepancies and optimizing stock levels.
- Monitor inventory turnover and coordinate with purchasing to maintain appropriate stock.
- Implement technology and systems for efficient tracking and reporting of inventory.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff, including supervisors, coordinators, and hourly employees.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment.
- Develop training programs to enhance skill sets and promote employee growth.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the warehouse complies with OSHA and other regulatory standards, focusing on a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits, implement safety training, and enforce company policies.
- Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement Lean or Six Sigma practices where applicable.
- Lead projects to enhance workflow efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Utilize data analytics to assess and improve operational performance.
- Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the warehouse budget, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipments, and cost per unit.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to optimize costs and resources.
- Customer Service and Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Resolve any logistical or operational issues that affect service quality.
- Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders, providing updates on operations and addressing concerns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or distribution operations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (a plus).
