Role Summary
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of operations at the CES facility. This includes managing staff, performance metrics, safety and compliance, customer satisfaction, budget and financial performance, and ensuring efficient handling and movement of goods. The GM is responsible for driving continuous improvement, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring the facility reliably meets its service commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop all facility personnel (supervisors, operations, maintenance, shipping & receiving, yard, etc.)
- Oversee day-to-day operations: inbound/outbound logistics, warehousing, distribution, container handling and customer deliveries, as applicable
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards and company policies
- Develop and manage the facility budget, cost control, and financial reporting (labor, overhead, equipment, utilities)
- Monitor and manage KPI's such as throughput, inventory accuracy, order cycle time, on-time deliveries, dock turn times, utilization, cost per unit, etc.
- Plan staffing levels, shifts, training, and Employee performance goals
- Maintain & implement preventive maintenance programs for facility and equipment
- Manage relationships with customers and stakeholders, resolve issues, ensure high service levels
- Work on continuous improvement: identify inefficiencies, recommend and implement process improvements, lean practices, technology usage
- Ensure facility readiness for audits/inspections and maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, food safety if applicable)
- Oversee capital projects or facility expansions/upgrades as needed
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related field (preferred)
- 7-10 years of operations leadership experience in warehousing / distribution / logistics; experience with food/beverage or temperature controlled supply chain is a plus
- Experience managing large teams, multiple departmental functions, budget responsibility

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with cross-functional teams and external customers
- Analytical mindset, strong problem solving skills; ability to use data / metrics to drive decisions
- Proficient with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), inventory control, and other operational tools
- Financial acumen: budgeting, cost control, forecasting

- Strong safety orientation
- Ability to work extended hours / weekends / on-call as needed
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to manage physical demands of facility walkthroughs / inspections
