East Coast Demolition, a North Carolina–based demolition contractor, is seeking a highly qualified Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, reliability, and overall management of our trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment fleet. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Moyock, NC. No part-time positions, relocation assistance.
Candidates must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately. The Fleet Manager must maintain strong communication with office personnel, field staff, shop staff, and vendors while ensuring all equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational.
Minimum Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in fleet, shop, or heavy equipment maintenance/management roles.
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, diesel, and electrical systems.
- Proven ability to operate and repair a variety of heavy equipment and demolition-related machinery.
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning for trucks, trailers, skid steers, track loaders, excavators, and similar equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in all climate conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily fleet operations including trucks, service vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to ensure maximum reliability and minimal downtime.
- Oversee and support shop crew; enforce safety rules, policies, and proper repair procedures.
- Maintain detailed computer logs, work orders, and daily reports; ensure timely submission of all documentation.
- Perform regular inspections, audits, and preventative maintenance scheduling for all fleet assets.
- Provide updates, recommendations, and ongoing communication to office and field personnel.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Develop alternative components/solutions to reduce equipment downtime and cost.
- Lead and support the maintenance team; provide technical guidance to return equipment to service quickly.
- Coordinate repairs, parts orders, and service priorities based on company needs.
- Report daily to Moyock, NC shop and remain on-site throughout the workday.
