What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Assistant (Part-Time / Schedule Varies Based on Cultivation Needs) position at East Coast Cure?
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cultivation Assistant to support daily grow operations and key cultivation tasks within a small, fast-paced medical cannabis operation.
This role requires a high level of trust, independence, and accountability. You will frequently be working on your own, so it is essential that you are self-driven, able to take initiative, and comfortable completing tasks without direct supervision.
You will assist with critical cultivation activities including harvests, transplants, cloning, and general plant care, while strictly following established SOPs. Attention to detail and the ability to execute tasks exactly as instructed are essential.
In addition to cultivation work, you may also support trimming, packaging, and other operational needs. As a small team, all employees are cross-trained and expected to contribute wherever needed.
Scheduling is based on cultivation needs, not a fixed schedule. While this role is typically structured around approximately 3 working days per week (15–30 hours), days and hours will vary depending on the cultivation schedule.
Candidates must be flexible and available to work during all key cultivation events, including harvests, transplanting, and cloning. These tasks are time-sensitive and cannot be missed or rescheduled. This role is best suited for someone with a flexible personal schedule who can reliably show up when needed, rather than someone seeking a consistent or predictable weekly schedule.
Candidates must have reliable transportation and be comfortable working in multiple environments, including indoor facilities, greenhouses, and outdoor grow sites.
We are willing to train the right person; however, the ideal candidate will be dependable, communicative, and capable of taking ownership of their responsibilities. This is not a “clock in, clock out” role — we are looking for someone who is engaged, proactive, and invested in the quality of their work.
Compensation starts at a minimum of $20/hour and increases based on the value you bring to the team — including reliability, efficiency, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and overall contribution to operations.
Reliability during critical cultivation days is essential — these are non-negotiable, high-priority work days.
