Job Summary
We at East Coast Construction are a local, family-owned, General Contractor. We have been in business for 40 years and take pride in maintaining a workplace conducive to employee longevity and success. This Property Management Assistant position, although in-house with our construction team, will be centered around our child companies, Fowler Properties & Fowler Industrial Park. These companies consist of multiple residential and commercial/industrial rental locations across Southern Maryland. We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and focused candidate to support our management team with the smooth execution of day-to-day operations. Applicants must be professional and driven to succeed.
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. The ability to demonstrate strong communication skills is essential. You must be able to effectively and clearly communicate face-to-face, via email, and by telephone with our tenants and potential tenants as well as your coworkers.
A strong candidate for this position will have fluent computer skills, be flexible, and be able to switch between responsibilities quickly.
Skills & Experience
o Expert math skills, accounting, bookkeeping (AR/AP using QuickBooks). *Required*
o Knowledge & experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) *Required*
o Computer skills include uploading and sharing photos, scanning, and printing
o Great attention to detail to include accurate data entry.
o Proficient in typical day-to-day office responsibilities.
o Ability to solve problems and prioritize issues.
o Maintain office equipment in collaboration with IT partners and key stakeholders.
o Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks.
o Manage time, ensure deadlines while multitasking, quickly switch between jobs, and can handle interruptions while staying on task.
o Good listener, team player, and reliable.
- Additional experience that is highly sought:
o SharePoint, Smartsheet and knowledge of the construction industry.
o Real-estate experience.
- Duties and responsibilities:
o Communicate with tenants regarding any problems or issues that may arise. Communicate these items clearly with the property manager (owner) and execute solutions timely and efficiently.
o Maintain rent rolls.
o Manage accounts payable & receivable, pay bills.
o Collect monthly rents.
o When necessary, facilitate and carry out court proceedings
This is a full-time position with some flexibility. The position is not remote; it is all in office work. We offer competitive salaries, health insurance, vacation and holiday pay.
