Light-Duty Tow Truck Driver – Part-Time or Full-Time

East Central Towing is looking for a dependable Light-Duty Tow Truck Driver to join our team in Rush City, MN.

We are looking to fill one opening, but we're flexible in how the position is structured depending on the right candidate:

PART-TIME — Light-Duty Tow Truck Driver

OR

FULL-TIME — Tow Truck Driver / Auto Sales

The part-time position will primarily consist of light-duty towing, roadside assistance and recovery work.

For someone looking for full-time employment, we have the opportunity to combine towing with helping customers at East Central Auto Sales during scheduled hours. Previous car-sales experience is not required. We're looking for someone friendly, dependable and comfortable working with customers.

Previous towing experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

Job Responsibilities

• Light-duty towing and vehicle transport
• Accident towing and recovery
• Winch-outs
• Jump starts
• Tire changes
• Vehicle lockouts
• Other roadside-assistance calls
• Safely load, secure and transport vehicles
• Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch
• Properly care for company trucks and equipment
• Complete required paperwork and dispatch information
• Perform basic pre-trip/post-trip inspections
• Full-time position may also assist customers with vehicle sales and other dealership responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must live within approximately 15 minutes of Rush City, MN
• Must have the ability and permission to keep an approximately 30-foot commercial tow truck at your residence
• Valid driver's license
• Good driving record with no recent DUI or serious moving violations
• Must meet applicable driving and insurance requirements
• Must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card
• Must be able to pass required background and driving-record checks
• Automotive knowledge preferred
• Towing experience preferred, but we will train the right person
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Available for some evenings and weekends
• Some holiday availability required
• Flexible availability during snowstorms, severe weather and other high-demand periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in Minnesota weather
• Able to safely perform the physical duties associated with towing and roadside assistance

Full-Time Towing / Auto Sales Position

Candidates interested in full-time employment may split their time between East Central Towing and East Central Auto Sales.

When not performing towing duties, this person may assist customers with vehicle sales and other dealership responsibilities. Previous auto-sales experience is not required. We are more interested in finding someone personable, trustworthy, comfortable talking with customers and willing to learn.
