What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist position at EAST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA FAMILY HEALTH CENTER, INC.?
ECO Family Health Center, Inc. has an immediate Medical Assistant position opening at the ECO Family Health Center Henryetta location. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Performs phlebotomy and chemical analysis using desk-top analyzer; collects urine samples and performs urinalysis; prepares laboratory requisition forms to accompany samples to the contract laboratory including those from drug screening programs; operates X-ray equipment; operates electrocardiography equipment; keeps a log of lab tests requested; compiles reports of test results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs phlebotomy and CLIA waved lab testing.
- Reports state required conditions to appropriate entity.
- Performs radiology exams as ordered by the providers.
- Maintains supplies for both the laboratory and radiology services.
- Maintains equipment by following operating instructions, performing preventative maintenance and Quality Assurance.
- Adheres to team concept by assisting other staff as needed.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPPA privacy and security rules/laws.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with rules and regulations set forth by the governing body.
- Must be willing and able to learn basic laboratory procedures and follow safe work practices and procedures in compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks, work with limited oversight, and speak distinctly and courteously on telephone.
- Must be able to travel to any of the ECO Health sites to help provide coverage when needed.
- Attends All Staff meetings quarterly.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the administrative staff of ECO Health.
Requirements:
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License
- BLS certificate
- Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
