What are the responsibilities and job description for the SLP Paraprofessional position at East Central Kansas Coop In Education?
The Speech-Language Paraprofessional supports Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by assisting in the assessment, screening, and implementation of therapy plans for individuals with communication disorders, under the supervision of a qualified SLP.
Under the Supervision of an SLP the responsibilities include:
· Assisting with Assessments:
Assist in administering and scoring screenings, and may help with data collection during assessments.
· Providing Direct Therapy:
Provide direct therapy services, following the SLP's guidance and protocols.
· Documenting Performance:
Document student performance, including data collection, charting, and reporting information.
· Training and Technical Assistance:
Provide training and technical assistance to students as directed by the SLP.
· Programming AAC Devices:
Assist in programming augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
· Supporting Service Delivery Models:
Assist in providing therapy through various service delivery models.
· Maintain Confidentiality:
Maintain student and family confidentiality.
