Salary: Level 3 Pay - Based on ECKCE paraprofessional pay scale
Position Overview:ECKCE is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated paraprofessional to provide individualized support to an elementary student with health, functional and academic needs. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in a child's school experience by promoting independence, learning, and well-being within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to a student throughout the school day, including academic assistance and health-related monitoring or care.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher, school nurse, and special education staff to implement accommodations, modifications, and health protocols.
- Assist with academic tasks including instruction, assignments, and classroom participation.
- Ensure student safety and access to learning across school settings (classroom, playground, lunchroom, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records and communication logs as required.
- Support the development of the student's independence and self-advocacy skills.
- Participate in relevant training related to the student's medical and educational needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow health care plans and accommodate medical needs as trained by school personnel or licensed professionals.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and safety procedures.
Working Conditions:
