East Carolina Health & Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, NC is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as the Medical Records Coordinator.
As the Medical Records Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of our residents’ health information. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain medical records in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policy. In addition to maintaining records, you will manage requests for medical information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policy.

What You'll Do
Maintain and update resident medical records in an accurate and timely manner.
Coordinate with nursing staff and other departments to ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
Manage requests for medical records from residents, families, and third parties in accordance with policies and procedures.
Participate in quality assurance activities to improve documentation processes and compliance.
Assist in training of staff on proper documentation and record-keeping procedures.
Prepare and distribute reports related to health information management as required.
Perform other duties as required for the successful operation of the center.
What You Need
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in medical records management preferred.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to handle confidential and sensitive health information with discretion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
