What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Financial Analyst position at East Bay Regional Park District?
The Park District is currently recruiting for one (1) Temporary Financial Analyst in the Capital Finance Department to serve no more than six (6) months at the Peralta Oaks Administration Building, in Oakland, CA.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under general supervision, carries out a variety of technical, analytical, auditing, accounting, budgeting, and administrative duties in support of the division’s goals and objectives; and performs related duties as assigned.
- Performs variety of research and analysis on various segments of the East Bay Regional Park District’s (Park District) operations
- Prepares meaningful technical and administrative reports
- Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations regarding departmental accounting and recordkeeping practices, procedures, and internal controls
- Develops and updates written practices, policies, and procedures to meet legal requirements and Park District needs
- Works with Information Systems department to improve, plan, implement and operate features and modules within the Park District’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Assists in the preparation of the District-wide budget
- Assists in the completion of year-end financial reporting and audit preparation
- Assists in preparation of quarterly financial reporting; conducts variance analysis, and drafts reports
- Prepares contracts, requests for proposals and other similar documents
- Performs technical analyses on new debt issuances and the refinancing of existing debt
- Prepares bond billing documentation and reconciles expenditures
- Prepares various reconciliations of financial accounts
- Investigates discrepancies
- Provides training to staff on applicable processes and procedures
- Attends and participates in meetings
- Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in areas related to responsibilities and performs related duties as assigned.
Experience: One year of experience performing work of an analytic nature in a financial setting.
License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License as a condition of initial and continued employment in this classification.
